THE ALBANY CLUB QUIZ

Hedgehog's Blog
No.6
22 March 2007

Well here we are again, another quiz over and a new one yet to begin……
Thanks to those of you that turned up. Unfortunately unless we see an increase in numbers I fear that the quiz may be due for the chop. In fact, cut the crap . IT IS due for the chop unless we see a marked increase in attendances for the next two quizzes…….

It was with some surprise and disappointment when I heard Garry had resigned his position as Entertainments Secretary. Over the last few years he has been instrumental in dragging the club into the 21st century. Friday and Saturday nights live music has been introduced, Sundays free and easy, the Folk Club, and of course our very own quiz. None of these existed on a regular basis until he became involved.

Why did he get all these things off the ground? Well, contrary to some belief it wasn’t for meglomaniacal purposes but purely to provide entertainment for club members and the Earlsdon community as a whole.

A club exists for the benefit of its’ members, and although some of the “old school” may not approve of all these new fangled events that have been put on (“bring back the bingo and Doris on her organ” that’s what I say…) they must accept that new blood is the life of the club ‘cos we’re all dying, and take note old school, some of us quicker than others…..

Anyway, elections are due in April let’s hope that the situation can be rectified.

What do you think? Please contact me via the site.

On that note I’ll leave you and hopefully see you all on Monday 14th May.
We're not having the quiz on the usual first and third Mondays in May
as the first one falls on May Day. So it'll be on the second (14th) and fourth (28th)
for the month of May.
Confused?

P.S. Don't forget to visit the Two Giraffes web site
www.twogiraffes.co.uk
where you can download the new single "Silvery Trees" from iTunes.

The track playing now which also appears on this limited edition EP
is the instrumental version of "Fly"
from the album "Twelve Songs"
