For those of you that are unaware when the quiz is on at the club, I ’ll re-iterate.
It’s the FIRST and THIRD Monday of the month unless there’s a Bank holiday,
as in this January when we moved it to the SECOND and FOURTH Monday.
This move set things up nicely for February because we could then avoid
the FIFTH Monday in January, which would have confused the issue somewhat….

However, what we failed to take into account was that Coventry City
were playing live on Sky TV on the FOURTH Monday, and if experience
is anything to go by, according to Garry “The Quiz gets filled up
with pissed up wankers” (but that’s enough about me and Brendan)…….
The upshot of this is the next Quiz will be on Monday 5th February
(the FIRST Monday of the month).

I’ve been feeling a bit sheepish since my piece on the Co-op.
Within an hour of the blog going live, I was accosted by Michael at
the kiosk (oooh it’s so cold by this door, feel that draft etc.) who enquired
about the content of my piece – if you know what I mean. Think I managed
to convince him it was in good humour ‘cos he said they’d have to get
a team together and make an appearance.Oh ooh….

Went to see Woodstock legend Richie Havens at Taylor Johns
(as opposed to John Taylors) last night and was mighty impressed
with not only the act but also the venue.
What didn’t impress me was the no smoking policy they’d adopted
for the evening. Oh well better go outside then …”I’m sorry you can’t
take your drink outside“ SHIT ! Don’t know what I’m going to do in July
when the total ban comes in. Wait a minute, yes I do, I’ll stay in….

Heard on BBC local radio phone in recently….
Presenter (Trisha Doodoo): Hi Mabel! Where do you live my love?
Mabel : Stoke Aldermoor
Doodoo : Stoke Aldermoor? Oooh! Very posh….!

Now, I’m not being snobbish ( I spent much of my teenage years in
Bell Green – my family have run a café there since 1966 ) but where do
you live if you consider that area posh? The conversation could easily have gone
Doodoo : Where are you from ?
Caller : Shithouse Lane, just off ASBO St.
Doodoo : Mmmm. Nice.

Anyway, that’s got that off my chest. Look forward to seeing you all on February 5th.
