Hate to say I told you so but.....

|
Well wouldn't you know it, the Free and Easy returns on Sunday nights in a regular spot starting December 11th at 8:00pm under the new and trendy name "Albany Rocks" Open Mic, but rest assured the format is still the tried and trusted method that has proved a winner for over 30 years.
The Club have approched 2 individual groups of Musos, Deano and myself among them, who will alternate gigs in an effort to stop the event growing stale after prolonged exposure. More bands may well follow, and that would be good in terms of variety and diversity whilst also widening the circle of attendees and followers. It will be interesting to see what happens, especially since there are now at least FIVE other identical events across the City on Sundays.
You've got to laugh - In an uncanny and most unlikely coincidence, a certain Mister Nigel Ashby has curiously begun to frequent the Club of late....
Mmmm, next thing you know, all "those" old Earlsdon Cottage bands from the glory days will be coming to play. Oh yes.
As I've said before, those of us that have been great supporters of the dear old F and E over the years will no doubt realise that poor attendances for what has now become our Club's most loved/despised event are a seasonal thing, attendances trailing off around June and then increasing as the nights draw in around October. That situation may well see the return of the Quiz on Sunday nights, but hey, who knows people, that bl**dy karaoke lark may finally take off big time and put us all out of a job.
