FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 8

JOHN OTWAY & HIS BIG BAND

Just before he embarks on his 2006 World Tour with 300 loyal fans taking in Liverpool, New York's Central Park and BB Kings Blues Club, Las Vegas, Tahiti, The Sydney Opera House, Shanghai, Ning Bo in China, Dubai and London (We kid you not) the ever irrepressible Mr. Otway's farewell gig will be
here at The Albany Club in Coventry.Together with his Big Band which includes Richard Holgarth [thanks Pam], Murray Torkildsen, Seymour, Adam Batterbee, and Barry Upton, the self-confessed unsuccessful singer songwriter, has built a large cult audience through unrelenting touring, a surreal sense of humour and a winning underdog.

Throughout his career his live audience has remained loyal, due to Otway's manic energy and the probability of physical injury during renditions of songs such as "Headbutts". His autobiography (subtitled "Rock and Roll's greatest failure") was a study in self-deprecation, and his touring has continued to sustain him. Catch him here in what promises to be one of the years highlights! Late bar, everyone welcome.

Tickets £8.00 in advance at the bar / £10.00 on the door
Advance postal bookings and enquiries welcome
