The recipe is simple, take eight musicians, a passion for Ska and a desire to entertain and educate the masses about the 2 Tone era and its origins. Take a load of Specials tracks, a handful of Madness songs and add some Selecter and Bad Manners hits in for good measure. Season with some Bodysnatchers and a heap of old Ska standards and Beat well. Lock away for about one year until the maturing process is complete and then serve fresh and live at The Albany Club. Bar till late Everybody welcome.

WILKO JOHNSON BAND

Following last May's fantastic sell-out gig, The Albany Club is delighted to announce the return of the hottest R & B trio direct from Canvey Island in Essex. Wilko Johnson started out as guitarist and songwriter for the 70's pub-rock pioneers Dr Feelgood, and was also a principle member of Ian Dury's Blockheads. As a solo artist Wilko has become one of the UK's best loved R & B acts. Joined by the enigmatic Norman Watt-Roy on bass (Blockheads, Selecter, Gabrielle) and Steve Monti on drums (Curve, Jesus & Mary Chain) and with Wilko's insane stage performance, this powerful trio have earned a solid reputation as one of the best live acts you're likely to see. And quite right too. Anyone who sees Wilko is guaranteed to come back for more.
